Kids Class

Kids Class ...Commencing again Monday 16th January at 3.30pm

Yoga is good for everyone – children who practise it enjoy better health, discipline, temperament, behaviour, concentration, memory and stamina. It facilitates their growth, prevents spinal problems such as scoliosis and improves their posture from an early age.

Yoga helps people to focus and become aware of their body and how it works. Through liking breath with movement the mind is calmed while the body and internal organs stimulated. Yoga has been proven to calm hyperactive and energise sluggish children. In each class the participants, boys and girls enjoy physical activity that is adventurous and allows creative involvement and expression.

Yoga provides exercise in a non-competitive manner, there is no winning or loosing as each posture can be adapted to each person thus everybody feels that they are participating and benefiting. Yoga brings about strength, flexibility and co- ordination for the body while at the same time teaching children to concentrate, relax and be gentle with others. It gives children at a young age an opportunity to learn how to calm and still themselves.

Yoga helps them to realise that yes is it important to be active and energised but it is just as important to have quiet times. The postures channel physical energy in a positive and sustainable way while aiding in the development of strong supple fit bodies.

Yoga introduces children to a life of healthy habits promoting a positive self-image while at the same time developing general well being and increased confidence. The continued practise of yoga increases ones self esteem and ability to deal with stressful situations that occur in everyday life. Through yoga children discover a sense of awareness and respect for themselves, for others and for the world around them.

Parent and Baby Yoga & Massage

Starts Thursday 19th January at 11.15am

The class incorporates baby massage and yoga. You too do some energsing yoga postures, some relaxation breating techniques and a head massage.
You just need to bring you and your baby - I supply oils and blankets.  The actual class lasts about 60 minutes depending on the babies.  There is then tea or coffee (1 euro) and some home baked biscuits (compliments of me) after the class so we normally finish up about 1pm.  I know what it like having babies, in the sense of how difficult it can be to just get out of the house -  so if you are running early / late just come along as there is somewhere to relax/change/feed... if your early and if you are late just come and join in.

Spaces Limited to 8 babies -  90 euro for 6 week course
